For the ideas below, a PPT has been created that you use (see opposite)

• Describe the two concepts associated with "know thyself":

1. Self-awareness: the ability to see oneself honestly, impartially, and with measure. Can speak openly and privately about it with your colleagues.

2. Possessing knowledge, facts, concepts, truths, or values concerning oneself

• Set aside some time in silence (or with calming music) to:

1. Ask young people to consider the following: where are you at this moment; Examine all facets of your life and determine how satisfied you are with it.

2. Assure them that they are unable to fully define and comprehend who they are. Show them the developmental stages shown on the right.

1.     Who am I today? (15 minutes)

  • Complete the form on the right to assess the various facets of life that young people can respond to.
  • Discuss your writing with your neighbor.

2.    My vision of myself in ten years (15 minutes): This phase aligns with the task described in Life is a Path.

  • For up to ten more years, have each player draw a map of the road (see opposite) that they would like to take. Add illustrations, phrases, and reliefs if possible.
  • Discuss your writings or drawings with your neighbor.

Only with young people aged 16 and over, accompanied by a counselor trained in guidance and counseling issues, you can engage young people in a more in-depth reflection on their personality

#know yourself

The concept of "self" is fundamental to psychology and philosophy, referring to individual identity and self-awareness. It encompasses the physical, mental and emotional aspects that define a person. The "self" is influenced by various factors, including experience, education, culture and social interaction. It develops throughout life through a complex process of integrating perceptions, values and beliefs.

Modern psychology often distinguishes between the conscious and unconscious "self", the latter being made up of hidden thoughts, desires and motivations. Personality theories, such as those of Freud and Jung, explore these deeper aspects of the "I". The "I" is also influenced by external factors such as society, cultural norms and social expectations.

Self-knowledge is essential to understanding the "I" and to navigating the world effectively. This involves exploring one's own motivations, emotions, strengths and weaknesses. A better understanding of oneself fosters healthier relationships, more informed decision-making and continued personal growth. In short, the "self" is a complex and constantly evolving entity, fundamental to human experience and individual development.

Good advice: Cultivate compassion and benevolence towards yourself and others.
