CONCRETELY
Did you feel at ease during the dance? Did the way other people looked at you throw you off balance (embarrassment, shyness, fear, etc.)?
What do you think is the key to having fun without fear of judgement?
On a day-to-day basis, how can you overcome your fears about other people's opinions and shyness? Do you know how to develop your self-confidence and self-esteem?

We're going to look at the concepts of self-confidence and self-esteem.
Self-confidence is a feeling of security. It represents how capable I feel. A person lacking in self-confidence will tend to think "I'll never be able to do it" "I won't be up to it" "I'm far too scared to try". Self-confidence develops through positive experiences and successes, but also in relation to the way others look at me, for example if my neighbour is kind.
Self-esteem is a favourable opinion, it represents how valuable I consider myself to be. It's when we judge ourselves. We assess our value and abilities based on our self-knowledge. Self-esteem is built up through the eyes of others, but also through our own eyes. A person with low self-esteem will tend to think and say "I'm not worth much" "I don't feel very important" "I don't like myself very much".
Here are 7 ways to develop your self-esteem:
- Get started
- Express yourself
- Respect yourself
- Listen to yourself
- Accepting yourself
- Opening up
- Daring
Good advice: Respect yourself and others to develop your self-esteem and self-confidence!
