Goal:

Reflection on how we use our time.

Steps

  1. Let's reuse this candy example. Today in our lives, how do we use our time?
  2. Give everyone a pen and a sheet

1) Ask them to draw a circle.

2) They should then think about the 5 most important areas of activity in their life. For example studies, family, friends, hobbies, health, …

3) They must divide the circle they have drawn into 5 parts, like cutting 5 parts of a cake. The 5 "parts" correspond to the areas they have thought about. The proportions of each part must be equivalent to the time they devote in their current life to this aspect of their life.

  • For example, if a student thinks he spends half of his week studying, then that area will represent half of the circle.

4) When they have cut out the 5 parts of the circle, ask the students to transform the lines of the circle into a human person, adding a head, two hands and two feet.

The character is ready. Ask the students to physically represent their drawing. They must therefore stand up and stretch out their arms and legs in such a way it faithfully represents what they have put on paper.

CONCRETELY :

  • Could you stay in this position for very long?
  • Why are some positions more difficult to maintain over time?

FOR FURTHER :

  • Do you think it is necessary that all parts of your "clock" are equivalent?
  • How did you choose the larger ones?

#balance

  • Manage your life: The goal of trying to "manage" time well is to have the right proportion and balance of the different aspects of your life. You can show them Vitruvian Man by Leonardo da Vinci.
  • Priorities: Each of the 5 areas will never have the same proportion, it's impossible. The important thing is to clearly discern which area we give the most space to in our lives. What do we give priority to?
