Steps

This improvisational sketch can address different themes, always linked to good and evil. This may be an opportunity to discuss:

  • I want to perform a service (or not)
  • I want to help my friend (or not)
  • I want to choose a job (or not)
  • ...
  1. The sketch
  • Choose 3 volunteers among the young people: 2 active and 1 extra (angel, demon, child). Otherwise, have the scene acted out by animators.
  • Give them a starting question, which the child asks himself. Eg :

-"Will I go to the EdM meeting today?"

- Am I going to eat this camembert (or this durian) that my friend brought today?

  • With the help of passion-labels if necessary, the angel and the demon intervene with the child by suggesting ideas to help him make his choice. Obviously, the angel tries to orient the child towards the good, the devil tries to orient the child towards himself, selfishly.
  • The concept of "passion"
  1. Name the passions revealed through the sketch: love/hate? hope/desperation? audacity/flight? desire/fear? pleasure/sadness? anger ?
  2. Name the passions that young people have failed to express, from the list above
  • The debate: ideas for questions
  1. Asking young people if they have ever experienced this kind of situation, a difficult choice?
  2. Ask the young people to explain the difference between the angel's solution and the devil's solution: long-term happiness or immediate pleasure?

Ask young people if they want to be happy! And, if so!, then how not to let themselves be influenced by their little everyday laziness, but to seek happiness every day of their lives? A solution that works: in each of the small choices, succeeding in turning towards happiness even if it is sometimes a little unpleasant, and so when the big choices come, the body and the mind are already used to making this effort and will be able to make more important choices. Little by little, the bird makes its nest.
