Étapes

Print the enclosed game cards and banknotes

Before the exercise, the facilitator decides:

➔ The amount of capital: ___________________ and rent: _________________

➔ Wholesale price for juice: _________________, water: __________________, biscuits: ____________________ and fruit: __________________.

➔ Price of other products (including sheets of paper, etc.): _________________

Explain the rules of the game: each group (2 or 3 players max) must manage their shop.

You (facilitator) are in turn: the wholesaler, the customer, and the owner.

  • Capital: Your group has ______ savings. You use that money to open a small shop.
  • Buy products: I'm the wholesaler: you buy the products from me that you'll sell in your shop. You can buy cookies, juices, water, and fruit. You decide what to buy.
  • Set up your shop: you rent a space for _____. I will collect the rent during the game. You can buy paper to decorate your shop. You decide on the selling prices.
  • Open your shop: I'll be your customer: I'll go around and buy your products!
  1. The faciliator distributes the capital
  2. The groups buy the products from the wholesaler: (the facilitator gives the cards and gives change)

Have another deck of cards set back on a corner of your table to see which team is looking for business opportunities!

  1. They set up their shop
  2. They sell their products: the facilitator buys them.

Be a discerning customer: Buy from stores that

1) are ready first,

2) Tries to sell (nice decoration, promotion...),

3) Have different products.

  1. The facilitator collects the rent from each group (=take the tickets).
  2. It's evening. It's time to close your shop!
  • Calculate how much money you've made today.
  • How much profit or loss did you make? Congratulations to the team's most profitable!
  • Together, write a report on the lessons from this game

Selling is hard.

o Competition = all stores sell the same products.

o the team must get along.

o Difficult to decide how much to buy (inventory management)

o Setting prices is difficult.

o It's important to keep track of the accounts... but we forget to do it!

o Difficult to make a profit.

o Rent is expensive.
