Print double-sided cards: see PPT opposite (FR or EN version)

  1. The facilitator shows the plant and asks all participants what it needs to grow properly.
  2. Expected answers: soil ("soil"), water, air, sun, gardener’s, or farmer's hand
  3. Comparison of the plant and human existence (guide reflection with appropriate questions): see attached photos
  • Air, Earth & Water --> Lifestyle (food, hygiene, etc.) "primary needs")
  • The Farmer --> Education (Parental & Academic)
  • The Sun --> Hope

GROUP REFLECTION (40 minutes)

1) Separate participants by age or age group:

  1. The youngest (elementary) work on basic needs: food, hygiene, sport, etc. with the map "Good soil & water // The bad land".
  2. Middle and high school students (age group 12-15 years old) work on education with the card "The Farmer // The Weeds"
  3. The older ones (16+) work on the notion of hope and happiness with the "The Sun / The Storm" card

2) Distribution of sheets and pens

  • Each age group must answer the questions on their card, front and back, in writing or with drawings.
  • If there are several participants in an age group, they choose a speaker who will present their thoughts at the end of the sharing time.

3) Possibility to distribute the clue cards, after 20 minutes of reflection.

 

PRESENTATION - all together

  1. Speakers' presentation - The speaker of each focus group will present the results of the sharing time. At the same time, team members can present the drawings made to illustrate their thinking.
  2. Running order: from youngest to oldest. From the most obvious to the most subtle.

The comparison of human life with the life of the plant makes it possible to bring to light that all life involves growth and development and that all life attains its fulfillment in fecundity.

At the end of the activity, there will be a draw to give the plant to one of the participants so that he can plant it at home and take care of it.

Ideally, seeds should be distributed to each of the participants if they can be found on the market.
