Steps

Ensure that you are either outside or in an indoor area free of any potential tripping hazards for the players.

1.In this game, each player secretly chooses a 'shield' (or attractor magnet) and an 'enemy' (or repellent magnet).

The objective is to always keep your shield between yourself and your enemy.

2.The game master starts and stops the movement of magnets (players) by saying 'go' and 'stop', respectively.

  • In "go", all players move to be in the right position. Everyone is going to run around until the game master says "stop".
  • At the "stop", the game master can ask each participant for the name of their shield and that of their enemy to check that the shield is correctly placed between the player and his enemy

3. Players can then be asked to reverse their shield and enemy and go back for a turn! Since this game is extremely sporty, two or three rounds are usually enough. It's a great ice breaker to get a group going!

CONCRETELY:

  • Do you feel like you've been more "running away" from your enemy or "following" your shield?

TO GO FURTHER:

  • What motivates your choices and decisions?
  • Is it more avoidance or rather a quest for something?
  • Is it sometimes fear, dread that makes you make decisions?

#emotions #decisions

  • Choices and emotions: When faced with a difficult situation, a challenge, the decision of "what to do" can be motivated by different emotions. Some will decide to avoid confrontation, to flee the uncomfortable situation, others will seek to solve the problem by proposing solutions.
  • Different temperaments: Of course, we can all function in one way or another depending on the context, but we do have preferred modes of functioning that are good to know to seek to improve.

For example, someone who has been insulted may react very quickly by starting a fight. His violent attitude and physical endangerment are not the most useful solutions.

  • Discernment: In some situations, it is better to avoid an unnecessary conflict, in others it is necessary to know how to take your courage in both hands and solve the problem rather than run away from it!

Sage's advice: Courage is the middle ground between fear and boldness. (Aristotle)
