Steps

Create a whatsapp group specific to the exercise, on which to add the numbers of several available telephones.

Take 3 to 5 volunteers, let them know that we will work on their exchanges later

Give everyone a phone and present the WhatsApp group specific to the exercise

Give them 10 minutes to correspond with each other.

15 minute break.Take advantage of the break to pre-analyze the exchanges.

Set up their exchanges on an overhead projector and analyse in the large group.

For the exercise to be constructive, the facilitator will start by focusing on the positive: on all interesting chats, that is to say where there is a real exchange of information or attention to the other.

To make the exercise constructive, the facilitator starts by focusing on the positive: on all the chats that are interesting, meaning where there is a real exchange of information or attention to others.

Ask open-ended questions: "What does this sentence say?" "After reading these 6 chats, what do we take away from them?"

Secondly, it's important to pause and highlight empty, interesting, or even hurtful chats. Again, ask open-ended questions.

Would you have said the same things if you were face-to-face? Do you feel more free behind your screen than in real life?

Behind a screen, you can quickly say things that have a direct impact on the emotions of your interlocutor. We can make people laugh but also hurt when we did not intend to and we can be indiscreet too. We can imagine false things, a word can be misinterpreted, We do not realize the impact of our words on our interlocutor when we are behind his screen. Maybe we can try to choose the right words to express a thought, and if we want to go further, favor face to face to talk to each other.

Good advice: Pay attention to whoever is behind the screen as if he were in front of you.
