Getting organized and planning instead of starting a business without thinking
Requires a translator
Print the deck cards (8 cards per group of players)
Available versions: English, French, Khmer
For longer workshops or coaching, spend more time on each step with a detailed example. Example: Take ideas and think about how to add value to them.
For illiterate participants: Form 8 groups. Show + read + explain a card and then give it to one group. Ask them to remember what their card says. Do the same with the 8 cards. Then ask: Which group must do the first thing? etc. until you get them in order.
Have the different groups compare the order they have chosen for their cards. Let them talk freely.
Plan and budget before you start and spend on your business.
1. Look around: what do people need?
2. Come up with business ideas
3. Competition?
4. Add value: be different
5. Gather information (price, costs, cycle)
6. Acquire skills: how to produce
7. Calculate Projected Cash Flow
8. Calculate how much money to start with + where to find it (savings/loans/partners)
