If the player I am questioning answers "yes" to one of my questions, I write his name in the box of the corresponding question; then I run to the next player...

Activity details

Duration: 25 minutes

Participants: 12 - 24 people

Cost: $ 3

Age range: 7-25 years old

Equipments

  • Print an attached instruction sheet per participant.

...

Goal:

- Get to know your classmates in a relaxing atmosphere
- Start the year with a positive experience

...

What we like:

  • The table can possibly be modified a little to adapt to the godchildren
...

Warning:

  • Put the godchildren well in a dynamic of movement and exchange before the start, otherwise they tend to remain seated and ask questions to their neighbors (for example to make them stand up for a little game).

Steps

  • Print one attached sheet per participant (link to come). Feel free to change the instructions depending on the age of the participants
  • Participants have 10 minutes to collect as many initials as possible. To obtain an initial, it suffices that the player questioned answers "yes" to one of the questions posed by the questionnaire. If this is the case, he can note his initials on the sheet of the person who has just asked him the question.

Encourage them to talk to each participant before the time runs out.

  • Observe the interactions between participants during the game.
  • Seat the participants after 10 minutes of play
  • As the students play the game, observe the way the students interact and gather some first impressions.
  • After 10 minutes, tell the students to stop playing the game and sit down.
  • Tell the students they will have ten minutes to gather as many initials from their co-scholars as they can.
  • Encourage the students to speak to every person in the group before the game is over.

CONCRETELY :

  • Did you manage to speak to each of the participants?
  • Are there any similarities with your neighbours' leaves? similarities?

FOR FURTHER :

  • Did you discover things about those you already knew?
  • Were you surprised by some answers that you weren't expecting?

#relating with others

  • Quick opinion: We sometimes think we know the others but sometimes we have actually formed a quick and erroneous opinion. Going to meet the other is not easy, it's putting yourself in an uncomfortable situation: how will the other look at me?

For example a new student arrives at school, he seems shy. Normal, he doesn't know anyone. Do I say to myself "he's shy, that doesn't interest me"? or am I going to ask him questions to find out where he comes from?

  • Often friendship begins with simple questions; they make it possible to enter into a relationship. If these little questions have allowed us to better appreciate a person, it is then up to us to go further. To build a friendship, our questions will become deeper. Then we will want to spend time together: memories build friendship.

The advice of the wise: "One of the joys of friendship is having someone to confide a secret to"
