Discover new professions - Helping students find their way.
Spread out all the cards and then ask the young people to name the pictures in the local language and if possible, in English (all together).
Give each player a grid. One of the players must then draw one of the picture cards at random and say the name out loud.
All players then look at their cards to see if the associated profession drawn is there. If this is the case, the player must place the image in the correct place on their grid.
Another image is then randomly drawn by the player who has just dropped an image on their grid. The first player to complete their grid wins.
At the end of the activity, ask participants personal questions related to the game, such as what job they discovered and what job they would like to pursue in the future.
The goal is to encourage young people to reflect on their future and professional aspirations.
It is possible to ask the students to create a sentence using the word that corresponds to the image.
These cards have unlimited use.
It is also possible to replace picture cards with cards that have the name of the profession written in the local language (and in English, ideally).
Have you discovered any new careers? Do you already have an idea of the career you'd like to go into? Which ones appeal to you most?
Why do they appeal to you most? The interest of the job, the salary, putting my talents to good use, putting myself at the service of the common good, putting my family's needs first...
If you had to choose just one job tomorrow, what would it be? Explain why
What emotions does it arouse? What talents can I put to good use in my future profession?
Was the game useful to you?
#orientation
You may choose a particular profession because it corresponds to your passions, but some people choose an orientation based on their natural aptitudes or the skills they have developed over time. They may feel more comfortable and successful in a particular field, which can influence their career choice.
However, it's important to be aware of the opportunities available, and to know whether your studies or profession are relevant to the reality of the market.
You should also ask yourself about your values, whether you're motivated to contribute to society, to make a positive difference in the world, or to work in fields that correspond to your personal convictions.
Is the salary very important to me, or would I rather be paid less and enjoy my work, with less stress than a position of responsibility?
Good advice: Use your talents for your job!
